Adults

You don’t have to be an adventurer like Bear Grylls to get involved with Scouting. Do you have first aid knowledge? Are you good with numbers? Handy in the kitchen? Or are you a DIY whizz? We all have useful skills and you can volunteer and help in many ways.  We will welcome you!

Parents

Parents tell us their children benefit hugely from the adventures, fun and friendships they experience. It can help develop your child’s social skills and independence, and give them access to some amazing and memorable opportunities.

And you can make a huge difference:  whatever your skills and availability, there will be some way you can contribute, meaning more young people get to experience the adventure of Scouting.  Some examples might be:

What parents need to provide

♦ Section specific sweat shirt or shirts:

Beavers—turquoise sweat shirt
Cubs—green sweat shirt
Scouts—green shirt
Explorers—beige shirt

♦ For normal wear: trousers or shorts that you don’t mind getting dirty
♦ For formal occasions (eg Remembrance Sunday), smart dark trousers or skirts

Meeting times and fees

Meeting times

Our scouts, cubs and beavers generally meet once a week at the Scout HQ during term time.  For safeguarding reasons, we are advised not publish meeting times on our website, so please contact the section leaders for more details or use the contact form.

Special activities may occur elsewhere other than the Scout HQ or at other times, especially Scouts and Explorers.  Please check on with the section leader.

Fees

Our fees from September 2024 will remain at £35 per child per term.

We’re delighted to offer Scouting to boys and girls of all abilities and of any religion, aged from 6-18.

1st Brill Scout group offers fun, friendship and adventure for all age groups whether they are joining the Beaver Colony, Cub Pack, Scout Troop or Explorer Scout Unit.
